Today is the birthday of Anton Szandor LaVey. He would have been 85 years old. Here at Rabid Crow, Doktor LaVey is memorialized with a line of items and art. This provides a way to salute him by those who appreciate his genius in writing The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals, and other books as well as founding the Church of Satan and the religion of Modern Satanism generally. LaVey hoisted Satan as a symbol of opposition to the restrictions on human liberty and freedom posed by religion generally and by the oppressive and violent monotheistic religions in particular. In today's world, ripped and endangered by religious fanaticism of Muslim jihadists and Christian fundamentalists, humanity would be greatly helped if more people appreciated the value of his words and vision.
